Six Divisions. One Standard. A Digital Presence Built to Match the Group Behind It.

Al Rostamani Group's Multi-Site Web Development

The Objective

Al Rostamani Group is one of the UAE’s most established conglomerates with seven decades of business across travel, real estate, financial services, communications, construction, and electrical engineering. There were six divisions, six distinct audiences, and a digital presence that reflected none of that complexity properly. Each division needed a site built for its own customers and conversion goals, on a platform its own team could operate without developer dependency. We scoped and delivered all six independently, to a shared performance standard: mobile-first, CMS-managed, and built for the UAE market where page speed is the difference between a visitor and a bounce.

A 70-Year Conglomerate That Had Outgrown Its Digital Footprint

Al Rostamani Group is one of the UAE’s most established family-owned conglomerates. Founded by Abdulla Hassan Al Rostamani in the early 1950s and headquartered in Dubai, the Group operates across automotive, real estate, construction, financial services, travel, technology solutions, and solar energy — a portfolio that spans much of what built modern Dubai.

When AppVerticals came into the engagement, the Group wasn’t a startup looking to establish an online presence. It was a multi-division institution whose digital infrastructure hadn’t kept pace with the scale and diversity of the businesses running underneath it. Six divisions — Al Rostamani Travel, the Group holding company, Al Rostamani International Exchange, Al Rostamani Communications, Abdulla Al Rostamani Properties, and Emirates Electrical Engineering — each had distinct audiences, distinct offerings, and distinct digital requirements. None of that complexity had been properly addressed.

The brief was to fix that. Build six sites that actually work — for the people who use them, and for the businesses they represent.

The Problem

Six Businesses, Six Audiences, and a Digital Presence That Wasn't Serving Either

The challenge with a conglomerate web build isn’t technical complexity in the traditional sense. It’s the organisational complexity beneath it. Each Al Rostamani division operates as a distinct business — different customers, different conversion goals, different content requirements, different compliance considerations.

Al Rostamani International Exchange serves Dubai’s large expatriate population with remittance, currency exchange, and WPS payroll solutions across 31 UAE branches. Its site needed to be transactional in intent — fast to navigate, accessible across languages, and clear on services and locations.

Abdulla Al Rostamani Properties needed live property listing management built directly into the platform. A static brochure site doesn’t serve a real estate division. Prospective buyers and tenants need inventory, detail, and a clear path to inquiry.

Al Rostamani Travel required a site built around the way people research and book travel — content-rich, with direct points of conversion. Al Rostamani Communications and Emirates Electrical Engineering serve B2B audiences — enterprises and government entities evaluating partners — and needed sites that communicated credibility and capability, not volume.

The Group holding site sat above all of them, responsible for representing the breadth of the portfolio coherently without turning into a navigation exercise.

Building these as six separate briefs with no shared standard would have produced six inconsistent outcomes. Building them as one brief with one template would have ignored what makes each division different. The actual challenge was holding both of those things at the same time.

Our Approach

One Engagement. Six Briefs. No Shortcuts Between Them.

We scoped each division independently before any development began — mapping the audience, the primary user journey, and the functional requirements specific to that business. That scoping work was the difference between six live sites and six useful ones.

Al Rostamani Travel

We built around the travel research and booking intent. Content structure, service presentation, and inquiry pathways were designed for a customer who arrives knowing what they want and needs a clear route to getting it.

Al Rostamani Group (Holdings)

We built a site that communicates the scope and credibility of the Group without burying the individual businesses. Navigation and architecture were designed to guide a visitor — whether a job candidate, a partner, or a journalist — to the right place without a search exercise.

Al Rostamani International Exchange

We built for accessibility and transaction clarity. Multilingual support was a requirement, not an add-on. With 31 UAE branches and a core audience of UAE residents sending money home, the site needed to work for people navigating it in multiple languages.

Al Rostamani Communications

We built a B2B-oriented site designed for enterprise and government evaluators. Credibility signals, service clarity, and a direct path to contact were the design priorities.

Abdulla Al Rostamani Properties (AARP)

We built an integrated property listing platform inside WordPress. Listings are managed directly by the AARP team — no third-party dependency, no manual update process for core inventory. The site functions as a live property portal, not a static brochure.

Emirates Electrical Engineering (EEE)

We built a capabilities-led site for a company that has been part of Dubai's electrical infrastructure for decades. Project history, service scope, and sector credibility were the content pillars.

How It Was Built

Scoped Independently. Delivered as One Engagement.

We ran six parallel scoping tracks before development began — one per division — mapping user journeys, content requirements, and functional specs independently. This added time at the front of the engagement and saved significantly more at the back by eliminating the late-stage scope corrections that surface when functional requirements are discovered during build rather than before it.

WordPress was the right platform for this engagement. Each division needed a site its own team could operate and update without developer dependency. Content ownership was a requirement from the start, not a post-launch consideration. Custom themes were built for each division rather than modified from a shared parent theme — giving the design team the flexibility to express each brand correctly without fighting a template’s inherited constraints.

Performance was treated as a first-class requirement, not an afterthought. Page speed is the single largest controllable driver of organic traffic loss — Google’s own data shows that bounce probability increases 32% when load time goes from 1 to 3 seconds, and 123% when it reaches 10 seconds. In the UAE, where mobile accounts for the majority of web sessions, a slow or unresponsive site doesn’t just frustrate users — it loses them before the page finishes loading. Every site was built mobile-first, with image optimisation, clean theme architecture, and lean plugin stacks — the three factors that account for the majority of WordPress performance variance. The goal was sub-3-second load times across all six sites, the threshold at which Google’s Core Web Vitals mark performance as acceptable and below which bounce rates begin compounding.

Multilingual configuration was built into the architecture from day one, not added after the fact. For Al Rostamani International Exchange in particular — serving a UAE audience that includes significant Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, and Filipino-speaking populations — this was a functional requirement, not a feature.

The property listing module for AARP was scoped as a platform capability: the AARP team can add, update, and remove listings through the CMS. At launch, the site was already operating as a managed inventory tool, not a static page.

Outcome

Six Divisions. Each One Online, Fast, and Doing Its Job.

Al Rostamani Group’s six divisions are now operating with digital presences built around what each business actually needs to do — not built around what a shared template could accommodate.

Every division now has what it didn’t before: a site built for its specific audience. Property listings live and managed. Exchange branches findable across 31 UAE locations. B2B capability showcases for Communications and EEE. The Group holding site presenting the full portfolio without losing the individuality beneath it.

Each team can now publish, update, and manage listings without routing through a development queue — the operational independence that turns a digital presence into a business tool.

And every site is fast. In a market where mobile accounts for the majority of web sessions, page speed is not a technical metric — it’s revenue. The Al Rostamani sites were built to the standard that keeps visitors on the page: mobile-first layouts, optimised assets, lean theme architecture. The foundations that separate a site that performs from one that merely exists.

The Group’s digital infrastructure now reflects what Al Rostamani has built over seven decades in the UAE: a portfolio of distinct, credible businesses — each one online, each one fast, each one ready to be found.

Testimonials

"AppVerticals took on a genuinely complex brief — six different businesses, six different audiences, and a standard we needed to maintain across all of them. They delivered a complete custom solution in and out. Each site was built for its division. The teams operating them have what they need, and the Group has a digital presence we're proud to put in front of clients and partners."
